  Advertising
   
  • Passed on Sensei Tabata's requirements of each school creating an advertising flyer for their individual clubs, as well as creating pages on each of their schools' web sites.
     
  Getting Equipment
   
  • Mentioned the recent purchase of the tournament materials from Sanjit Mandal prior to his moving to California. During that, it was recommended that each school invest in tournament-approved gloves and mark them appropriately for each school.
  • Suggested various retailers to use by the schools to purchase sparring gear, uniforms and other equipment.
     
  Class Schedules
   
  • Melissa collected information from each of the school representatives that were present to update the class schedules listed on each school page.
  • There is also a Sunday training with Sensei Tabata every Sunday from 4-6pm at Hill Hall - Tufts University. This training is open to yellow belts and above.
     
  Fall Schedule
   
  • The tournament will be hosted by Boston University.
  • The planned date is December 2nd.

  • The hosting school will have a 50% discount on all entrance fees for the tournament. Sensei has limited the age of competitors to 18 and up. The tournament will be open to all interested - competitors do not have to be NECKC or NAKF members, nor do they have to practice Shotokan. A tournament committe was formed for later planning of the tournament.
     
   
  • Kata Clinics will be held as a single seminar weekend, as opposed to every weekend in the fall. This semester's seminar weekend will be October 21st and 22nd. More details can be found on the seminar page.

  • Kobo videos and Kata videos are now available. Contact Melissa or Popsi for more information
   
  • Students were encouraged to watch for tournaments happening in the area, and to participate if they wanted to.
  • Shotokan Karate Magazine will be featuring Sensei Tabata in is next issue.
  • The organization is starting to collect information about other schools in order to build a contact database for future mailings about tournaments and other announcements.
